Germany - Collective agreement in concrete industry - August 31, 2023

The trade union IG BAU has concluded a collective agreement for employees in the concrete and precast concrete industry in Saxony-Thuringia and in the North area. For employees in Saxony-Thuringia, basic wages will increase in three steps by a total of € 1.91 per hour.

The wages and salaries will increase by 3.3% on 1 July 2023, by a further 4.7% on 1 January 2024, and by a further 3.3% on 1 January 2025. The apprenticeship allowances will increase by € 90 on 1 September 2023, and by € 80 on 1 September 2024. The term of the collective agreement is 22 months until 30 April 2025. From 1 January 2024, the 39-hour week will apply with full wage compensation. For employees in the North area, wages and salaries will increase in two stages by a total of 9.5%. By 1 July 2023, there will be 6% wage increase and by 1 July 2024, another 3.5%. Apprenticeship allowances are increased disproportionately. From 1 July 2023, they will increase by € 100 and on 1 July 2024 by a further € 50 per training year.
