France - Four-day week at supermarket chain - November 30, 2023

Employees working at Lidl supermarket have been entitled to a four-day week. A different pace of work which is in the experimental phase. The four-day week is offered to multi-skilled team members who work more than 30 hours per week, as well as to reception cash register coordinators on permanent contracts. In addition to this, other working time arrangements are offered in Lidl stores. Employees can alternate weeks where they work only in the morning and only in the afternoon, choose a schedule from several possibilities proposed by managers and follow the schedule established over eight weeks rather than four.
