Denmark - Academics can get a pay rise by switching to the private sector - June 30, 2023

The chair of the union for academics (Akademikerne) sees a more flexible salary model as a key to tackling the recruitment challenges in the public sector. Academics in the public sector can switch to the private sector and get a significantly better salary. This is one of the results of the Salary Structure Committee's report. The report shows that a number of groups of academics earn 20-30% more in the private sector than in the public sector. According to the chair of Akademikerne “it is crucial that we jointly make an effort to ensure that the public sector is attractive to work in."
