Belgium - Profitable companies allowed to pay a purchasing power bonus - May 31, 2023

Although workers will not receive any salary increases in 2023 and 2024 beyond those already linked to inflation, the Council of Ministers has approved the possibility for profitable companies to pay employees a tax-free purchasing power bonus of up to € 500. The new measure is intended to help workers in a difficult socio-economic context. It allows companies and sectors that have made significant profits to grant a bonus to their staff. Businesses that register exceptionally high profits can give up to € 750.
