Austria - Trend-setting collective agreement in tourism - August 31, 2023

JUFA Hotels and the trade union Vida agreed on higher wages, more free time and better framework conditions through the industry collective agreement. As part of the JUFA future process, more than 300 employees were called upon to actively help shape it and contribute their New Work ideas. After long negotiations, a family-friendly working time model was derived, salary levels were made more attractive and extensive development opportunities were created. The future collective agreement Tourism offers a variety of benefits for employees. Employees will be able to take their sixth week of vacation much faster – after 15 years of service. There is also one fixed free weekend per month and a supplement for Sunday work. The new monthly gross minimum wage is € 1,900 as of 1 September 2023, and € 2,000 from 1 May 2024.
