Austria - 16% pay rise in small transport industry - September 30, 2023

From 1 January 2024, employees in the small transport industry will receive an average wage increase of 16%. A new wage table considerably shortens waiting times for upward leaps. Depending on the level in the wage table, the contractual wages are increased in a range of € 160 to € 400 gross per month. In the negotiations with the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ), the trade union vida succeeded in compensating for inflation including a real wage increase. Newcomers previously had to wait five years for a leap in the salary scale. From 2024 onwards, the leaps will now take place annually or after three years in the upper salary levels.
