Austria - 10.65% wage increase for nursing homes - August 31, 2023

The negotiations for the collective agreement for denominational elderly and nursing homes (KAP), which have been ongoing since the beginning of December 2022, have been concluded. According to the trade union Vida, an acceptable result was achieved with an 8% wage increase and a reduction in working hours as a first step towards 39 hours per week. A minimum wage of € 1,850.76 will apply from 1 September 2023. In addition, a tax-free cost-of-living premium of € 1,500 was agreed upon. Around 3,600 employees are covered by the KAP collective agreement.
