Cyprus - Workers get smaller share of GDP - February 29, 2020

The wage-to-GDP ratio has fallen in 2019 to 49.7%, from 55.7% in 2009. Working people are thus receiving a smaller share of total income. Nevertheless, employees are getting higher salaries than three years ago. According to data from Cyprus’s statistical services, the average wage in 2018 stood at EUR 1,938, increasing by 2.5% from EUR 1,891 in 2017.
