Switzerland ratified legislation that extends the Agreement on Free Movement of Persons (signed by Switzerland and the European Union) to Croatia. On January 1 2017, Protocol III entered into force. It envisages a gradual transition of the free movement of persons to Croatia. If the work location is within Swiss borders, Croatian nationals now can apply for a border commuter permit (G-permit) in Switzerland.
