Luxembourg -Nearly 2000 financial sector workers affected by social plans, but sector grows -April 04, 2013

Figures provided by the Labour Ministry reveal that more than 1,900 workers in the financial sector have been affected by social plans since 2008. Meanwhile, the data also reveal that the total number of workers in the financial sector grew over the same period (from 42,946 in December 2008 to 44,000 in December 2012), whereas the number of people employed by banks decreased (from 27,200 to 26,537). Figures on the total number of layoffs were not available.
