Northwest China's Xinjiang Region hasraised its minimum monthly and hourly wages.
After the wage hike, which will take effect on June 1, minimum monthly salaries before deductions for pension, unemployment, medical insurance and housing payments are expected to be raised to 1,520 yuan (248 U.S. dollars), 1,320 yuan, 1,240 yuan and 1,160 yuan under four subdivisions.
Minimum monthly salaries in the region will be increased by an average of 16.14 percent, while the Minimum hourly wages, which will be increased by 1.8 yuan, and will range from 11.6 yuan to 15.2 yuan across the region.
