Switzerland - Unions demand higher pay for apprentices - May 31, 2024

All employees with an apprenticeship should earn at least 5,000 francs (€ 5,087) per month. The Swiss Federation of Trade Unions (SGB) passed a corresponding demand at its delegate meeting. In addition, wages should generally be at least 4,500 francs (€ 4,578), the SGB announced. According to the SGB, many people no longer have a good and secure income after an apprenticeship. According to a survey by the unions, one in three employees with an apprenticeship works for a wage of less than 5,000 francs, calculated on a full-time basis.
