According the union confederation FGTB/ABVV, automatic indexation led to an increase in social benefits and salaries. In April 2024, inflation increased by 3.37% in one year. The pivot index was exceeded in April, which means that social benefits and civil servants' salaries are adapted the following month. In May, unemployment compensation, pensions, sick pay, etc. will increase by 2%. Public sector salaries will also increase by 2% in June. Private sector workers will see their wages increase due to rising prices. Some sectors will follow the pivot index, others will index it differently and at different times.
