Estonia - Teachers consider going on strike - September 30, 2023

According to the teachers’ union network, educators may opt to strike in response to much smaller wage hikes than the government had promised. According to the unions, the 1.7% pay rise included in the state budget bill feels like a mockery. The government announced that it would be freezing the public sector payroll, and that only teachers would be getting raises as their minimum wage is increased 1.7%. A teacher working full time currently earns a gross minimum wage of € 1,749 a month, or around € 1,400 after taxes.
