About the Project
Mondiaal FNV, WageIndicator Foundation, and Bangladesh Labour Foundation—supported by the European Union—are launching the Decent Work Due Diligence Bangladesh (DWDD)project.
Over the next four years, the project will conduct Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) workers’ surveys in 370 factories across the ready-made garment (RMG), footwear, and leather sectors. These surveys will assess working conditions and wages and collect data on 50+ topics, including:
- Wages, including Living Wages
- Occupational health and safety (OHS)
- Freedom of association (FoA)
- Violence and harassment at the workplace
The findings will be benchmarked against Bangladesh labour laws, international labour standards, and key frameworks such as:
- CSDDD (EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive)
- EU Forced Labour Directive
- CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive)
- ILO Conventions, OECD Guidelines, and UNGPs
This initiative builds on extensive experience from Indonesia (500+ factories in the textile, garment, and leather sector), Ethiopia, and other supply chains.
