Netherlands - Pay rise for greengrocers - February 29, 2024

Employees who work at the greengrocer or stand at the market with potatoes, vegetables and fruit receive the so-called automatic price indextion (APC). From now on their salaries will rise in line with inflation. Union FNV has agreed this with the Dutch Craft Fresh Retailers (AVN) and the Royal Central Association for Ambulatory Trade (CVAH). The members of the union voted in favour of the collective agreement. The new collective agreement for fruit and vegetable retail lasts two years and comes into effect on 1 January 2024. On 1 April 2024, wages will increase by 2.5%. On 1 January 2025, wages will increase with the same percentage as consumer prices as of October 2024.
