Netherlands - New agreement for railway staff - March 31, 2024

After another two days of negotiations, the unions and Dutch railways NS reached a new collective agreement. Union FNV believe that these improvements will lead to broader support among its members and all employees at NS. The negotiating result that was previously submitted was rejected by the union members. The union’s proposal to agree on a points system for demanding professions has been accepted by all parties to the collective agreement. There will be a model that awards points to functions per aggravating circumstance, which will determine whether an employee can retire early.
