Netherlands - Agreement for childcare workers - April 30, 2024

Unions and employers agreed on a new collective agreement for the more than 122,000 employees in childcare. The extra scheduled day will be abolished and an additional 2.5% salary will be added in six months. If the union members vote in favour, the collective agreement will come into effect on 1 July 2024 with a short term of six months. Unions and employers must therefore start a new bargaining round before the end of the year. The end-of-year bonus will increase by 1% to 4%. Wages will increase by 1.5% on 1 November. The standard travel allowance will increase from € 0.14 to € 0.23 per kilometre.
