Netherlands - 10% pay rise at paint manufacturer - February 29, 2024

It took months of negotiations, the consultations were at a standstill for a while and strikes were in the air, but finally a collective agreement with paint manufacturer AkzoNobel was reached. Union FNV agreed with management on a 10% pay increase for factory workers and about 9% for office staff. In addition, all deteriorations that AkzoNobel previously proposed are off the table. The employees receive twice as much travel allowance and their parental leave is supplemented to 100% for the first 9 weeks. The collective agreement at AkzoNobel covers approximately 2,800 people.
