In the third round of negotiations, the unions and the state of Hessen agreed on a collective agreement for state employees. Salaries will increase by € 200 on 1 February 2025 and by a further 5.5% on 1 August 2025. The training and intern salaries will increase by € 100 on 1 February 2025 and by € 50 on 1 August 2025. The inflation compensation of € 3,000 will be paid out in 3 instalment of € 1,000 in May, July and November of this year. For the first time, ver.di has reached a regulation in Hessen to expand permanent employment at universities. Permanent full-time positions for scientists financed by state funds are expected to increase to 1,850 by 2030. A special legal agreement stipulates, among other things, a minimum hourly wage of € 13.46 for student assistants from the summer semester.
