Finland - Strikes against government programme - March 31, 2024

According to the head of trade union association SAK, industrial, logistics and electrical workers have agreed to extend strikes in protest against planned labour market reforms to a fourth week. The workers have been on strike since 11 March, targeting exports, imports and cargo transportation.The JHL trade union, AKT transport union and other members of the SAK trade union confederation are involved in the strike action against the government programme of welfare cuts and attacks on workers’ and trade union rights. The unions are frustrated that the government is not responding to their calls to negotiate.
