Cyprus - Unions strike to get wage hikes and sectoral collective agreement - April 30, 2024

The unions of Builders and Mechanical Engineers of PEO and O.VI.E.K-SEK officially announced a strike stating that “following the deadlock declared by the Conciliation Service of the Ministry of Labour and the decision of the workers in the aforementioned sector, a nationwide 24-hour warning strike will take place.” According to the unions, on the day of the strike, strike rallies will be held in all cities, showcasing their determination to fight for the defence of collective agreements and their demands which include wage and benefit increases, as well as the signing of the sectoral collective agreement that will cover all workers.
