Sweden - Unions demand collective agreement at Spotify - April 30, 2023

Three leading white-collar unions have sent a formal request to the Spotify music streaming service, calling on them to start negotiations over a collective agreement. Engineers of Sweden, Unionen and Akavia submitted the request to Spotify on 12 April, asking the company to conclude the first collective agreement “as soon as possible”. Under the Co-Determination in the Workplace Act, companies are required by law to start negotiations over a collective agreement as soon as possible after receiving a request. The unions said that the agreement would apply only to the company’s employees in Sweden.
