Portugal - Doctors union may stall strike - November 30, 2023

The Independent Trade Union of Doctors (SIM) has said it may well call off the overtime strike it had announced if legislative elections are called, and it will almost certainly call on doctors to stop handing in minutes of unwillingness to work overtime. FNAM, the National Federation of Doctors says that it will continue “to fight for the defence of doctors’ rights, but above all for the health service”. The union had called for a strike because negotiations between the ministry of health and the unions were unilaterally cancelled by the government on 8 November.
