Poland - Wages increase by 11.7% - April 30, 2023

The average monthly gross wage and salary in 2022 was PLN 6,346.15 (€ 1,386). In comparison with the preceding year, it increased nominally by 11.7%. This increase was higher than that recorded in 2021 against 2020, when it was 8.7%. In the public sector, wages and salaries were 10.2% higher than the total average monthly gross wage and salary, while in the private sector it was 2.6% lower. The average monthly gross wage increased in all sectors in comparison to the same period of the preceding year. The highest nominal increase was recorded in transportation and storage (by 23.6%) and mining and quarrying (by 22.3%), while the lowest was in the education sector (by 5.9%).
