Netherlands - Higher pay for water companies - December 31, 2023

Employees of drinking water companies will receive an average wage increase of almost 7%. This is the outcome of collective negotiations between trade unions FNV and CNV and the employers. This proposal will be submitted to the members of the trade unions. The collective agreement also includes a minimum wage of € 16 per hour. The new agreement will come into effect on 1 January 2o024, and has a term of 18 months. As of 1 January 2024, all employees of drinking water companies will receive an additional € 50 gross (for full-time employment). This will be followed by an increase of 4.25%. There will be an additional increase of 2.5% from next year.
