Netherlands - Agreement for artisanal bakeries - October 31, 2023

The union FNV reached a collective agreement with the employers’ organization for artisanal bakeries (NBOV). This occurred after a turbulent period with several strike threats, separate wage agreements at bakeries where the staff mobilized, an actual strike and a petition for a higher wage increase for artisan bakers. Finally, a total wage increase of 13.75% over 21 months was agreed, which boils down to an annual wage increase of 7.86%. Wages will increase by 6% as of 1 December 2023, by 5% as of 1 June 2024, and by 2.75% as of 1 January 2025. The collective agreement has a term of 21 months (until 3 January 2025).
