Iceland - Wage differancials - November 30, 2023

According to recent data, the earnings of gay men are 30% lower than those of heterosexual men on an annual basis, but the difference is insignificant for gay women. Only about half of gay people in the labour market are fully open about their gayness in the workplace, and almost 60% say that their conditions and rights in the labour market are generally lacking. There is a strong call for increased coverage of gay people's issues in the labour market. This is among the things that appear in the report of the Norwegian Institute of Economics on the queer labor market prepared for unions ASÍ, BHM and BSRB and BHM.
