Denmark - Agreement to get more immigrants to work - September 30, 2023

The government and the social partners have entered into a tripartite agreement that extends the basic integration education (IGU) until 31 December 2027. Integration of refugees and their family members into the Danish labour market can be difficult for language reasons and because the level of education may not match the labour market requirements. The basic integration course takes two years and is intended to help refugees and family members find a foothold in Denmark and is a combination of language teaching, education and work. With the tripartite agreement, the IGU is extended and strengthened until 31 December 2027.
