Austria - 9.2% pay increase for social economy - November 30, 2023

After 16 hours of negotiations a collective agreement was reached between the trade union vida and the employers’ association for the 130,000 employees in the private care, health and social sectors (social economy). Wages and salaries as well as allowances and bonuses will be increased by 9.2%. The increase applies equally to actual income and minimum income. The new minimum wage is € 2,067.40. In addition, important improvements were achieved regarding pay during night shifts and allowances for dirty, difficult and dangerous work.
