United Kingdom - Minimum wage rises - March 31, 2022

Millions of workers will receive a pay rise from 1 April 2022, as the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rise comes into effect. The uplift in wages, which will benefit around 2.5 million people, includes the largest ever increase to the National Living Wage. It will increase annual wages of average full­time workers by £1,000 (€1,187), helping to ease cost of living pressures. However, questions have been raised over whether the increases are enough to ease the pressure of soaring inflation.
