Switzerland - Construction workers on strike - November 30, 2022

Around 2,000 construction workers across the country went on strike to protest against the ever-increasing pressure on construction sites. The strike was part of a nationwide wave of protests as part of the renegotiation of the state framework agreement (LMV). Despite six rounds of negotiations, the social partners have still not been able to reach an agreement. The builders' association is of the opinion that the strike violates the peace obligation, as it takes place at a time when the seventh round of negotiations between the social partners is still pending.
