Sweden - Union and rail company agree on job retention - May 31, 2022

The trade union Seko has signed an agreement with railway company MTR which means that more than 300 jobs will be saved and that all members can keep their terms of employment despite relocation. The background is that MTR decided to discontinue the role of the train host on the commuter trains in Stockholm. Seko is still against the decision because the decommissioning of train hosts jeopardizes train safety, increases insecurity for passengers and reduces the availability of commuters for groups with special needs. The agreement with MTR means that unemployment can be avoided for at least 120 station hosts and 180 train hosts.
