Slovakia - Changes to the Labour Code - November 30, 2022

On 1 November 2022, an amendment to the Labour Code (ZP) entered into force, which brings about several changes in order to incorporate two EU Directives. In accordance with the basic principles of ZP, natural persons have the right not only to fair and satisfactory working conditions, but also to transparent and predictable working conditions. The employer may not prohibit the employee from performing other gainful activities outside the working hours specified by the employer. In the event that an employee files a complaint with the employer in connection with a violation of the principle of equal treatment, the employer is obliged to respond in writing without undue delay.
