Norway - Day care centre employees strike - October 31, 2022

More than a thousand employees of privately-operated day care centres walked off the job. A conflict over pension plans has left parents scrambling to find alternative care for their pre-school children. Negotiations between the national organization representing the day care centres and three trade union federations broke down, resulting in the first phase of the strike by 1,007 employees at 112 day care centres.
