According to a G7 analysis, teachers’ wages in Hungary are low even when compared regionally. This applies both to entry teachers’ wages, and experienced professionals’ salaries. In addition, after a major wage settlement around 2013, teachers’ wage are on a downward slope, as they failed to follow the increase of the national average wage.
