Germany - Strong pay rise in hospitality - March 31, 2022

After long and very difficult negotiations, the union NGG reached a collective agreement with the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHG) for the 340,000 employees in the Bavarian hospitality industry. Wages and training allowances will increase in several stages over the next 24 months by up to 27%. Wages for all occupational groups will increase in three stages: by 7.0% as of April 1, 2022, by 3.5% as of January 1, 2023, and by 5.0% as of April 1, 2023. This increases the current gross salary from € 2,254 as of April 1st, 2023 by € 367 per month for a trained cook or a trained hotel manager.
