Germany - Start of collective bargaining round in the metal and electrical industry - September 30, 2022

On 12 September, collective bargaining for the almost four million workers in the metal and electrical industry started. IG Metall in Lower Saxony made the start. IG Metall is demanding a wage increase of 8% for a period of 12 months. The employers, by contrast, want a zero round. The previous negotiations were adjourned without results - in other regions they have yet to begin. The first round of negotiations was adjourned without results. The second round will take place at the beginning of October 2022.
