Cyprus - Exemptions to national minimum wage - April 30, 2022

A statutory national minimum wage which is expected to be approved by parliament soon and enforced at a later stage, has three exemptions. Agricultural workers, domestic help - the lowest paid individuals in Cyprus - as well as sailors, who have their own collective agreement, will not be covered by the National Minimum Wage bill. There will be a period of adjustment in the labour market and especially in companies before it is enforced.
