Austria - Supermarket chain tests a four-day working week - April 30, 2022

Supermarket chain Lidl Osterreich has announced its intention to offer a four-day week to some of its central services employees. Details of the initiative are unknown, including for example, how many employees will be affected, and which criteria will apply for their selection. Alongside this policy move Lidl Osterreich which employs 5,800 employees, has announced that it will grant an additional week of vacation to employees in the central services divisions to come to a total of six weeks per year.
