Turkey - Unions issue joint statement on minimum wage - November 30, 2021

Turkish workers’ unions have issued a joint statement on the current minimum wage negotiations, saying that the minimum wage that is to be effective as of 1 January 2022 should be determined after considering recent developments in the national economy. The joint statement was made by the Confederation of Turkish Labour Unions (Turk-I§) and the Confederation of Turkish Real Trade Unions (Hak-I§). The statement noted that a minimum wage should make it possible for a worker and his/her family to ‘live humanely’ according to current economic and social conditions.
