Sweden - Rapid change in the labour market during 2020 - April 30, 2021

From March 2020, the labour market was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, before signs of recovery began to appear toward the end of the year. According to a report by the Statistical Office SCB, falling employment and rising unemployment hit young people and temporary employees the hardest. The service sector was especially hard hit. Absences increased and the number of hours worked decreased sharply. At the same time, the risk of becoming unemployed increased and the chances of finding work decreased.
