Norway - Pay raise averts strike - April 30, 2021

Mediation warded off a major strike that would have pulled more than 30,000 workers off the job and disrupted ferry and bus services around the country. The breakthrough came after the employers’ organisation NHO retreated on a controversial stance that would have resulted in a loss of purchasing power for most union members. The employers and trade union federations LO and YS agreed on the concession of a pay raise.
