In his State of the Nation speech the Prime Minister confirmed that employers would be allowed to insist that their employees showed the health pass (CovidCheck certificate) they already have to use in order to gain access to public places such as restaurants. This additional constraint should encourage people to get vaccinated. However, this proposal was rejected by a trade-union front made up of three national confederations. This new measure is due to enter into force on 1 November.
