Latvia - Gender pay gap widens - June 30, 2021

Provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in 2020 the average gross hourly earnings of female workers were 22.3% lower than those of male workers. During the last two years the gap between the average gross hourly earnings of females and males has risen by 2.7 percentage points. The gap in earnings of male and female workers is affected by various social and economic factors - the number of males and females in the sector, their occupation and position, education, age, service increment, number of hours worked and other reasons.
