The Government has formally approved the establishment of a new system for setting terms and conditions for workers in the childcare sector. The Department of Enterprise and Employment said Joint Labour Committees provided as a wage-setting mechanism that determines terms and conditions of employment, as well as setting minimum rates of pay for workers in certain sectors.
