Ireland - Call for investigation into bogus self-employment - June 30, 2021

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has called for an independent investigation into “bogus self­employment” among couriers. In a report the PAC recommends an examination into a special tax agreement with the courier sector which was signed by Revenue. Members of the PAC said the actual number of employees affected and the amount of revenue lost is difficult to quantify, but it is believed to be significant.
