According to a study, wages of teachers with 3-5 years of experience in the sector do not earn more than the minimum wage for skilled workers. According to the economic news site Portfolio, in 2019 the entry-level salaries of teachers with bachelor degrees (BA/BSc) were less than the monthly minimum wage for skilled workers. Since then, the wages of teachers were supplemented to reach this level.
