Germany - New minimum wage in meat industry - June 30, 2021

The Food, Tobacco, Hotel & Allied Workers Union, NGG, and employers in the meat industry have agreed on a Germany-wide minimum wage for the approximately 160,000 workers in slaughterhouses and meat processing companies. The new minimum wage starts at €10.80 per hour. On 1 January 2022, the industry­wide minimum wage will be increased to €11.00 and will rise to €12.30 per hour from 1 December 2023. This is considerably higher than the current statutory minimum wage at €9.50.
