Finland - Gradually increasing presence of women in union executive positions - January 31, 2021

A survey by Yle found that women were much more likely to sit on the executive committees of trade unions than on the board of employers’ federations. In both cases, the number of women is gradually increasing, but the pace of change is slow, according to the results of the survey. For example, women currently make up an average of about one fifth of the board members of employer federations. However, almost half of the trade unions’ board members were women.
